    Canon ixus 40

    Hi guys, i have a Canon ixus 40, i went on holiday and took a few pics, but i delated one by mistake i was wondering if i could recover it back?

    I only have the usb link to the computer.

    If you deleted from the card through the camera, it's gone. The ixus/Elph doesn't have a retrieve function. If you just copied the images to your computer and didn't delete them off of your card, you can just re-copy the image to your computer.

    Damn i delated it from the cam

    I heard people say you can use some kind of software to get it back, or are they wrong?

    yeah you can get them back...but you'll have to download some software, which usually isnt free, to do it. try some of these in the link.

    the free trials allow you to get back one or two photos or only photos of a certain size.

    you'd have to get some sort of card reader and use the CF card as a drive, rather than using it through the camera.

    If you haven't written anything to the card since you deleted the file, then yes you have a good chance of getting the file back.

    I use Photorescue for retrieval of files from cards. Works very well.
