    canon a70 problem

My canon a70 is shooting blank black pictures. The trouble started when i was viewing the pics on the television and pulled out the plug from the television without swiching the camera off . The LCD monitor stays black all the time when the camera is in shooting mode. whats wrong with the camera ?

Your best bet is to send it back to Canon for a look.

    May I make a suggestion??

First of all I will tell you right up front that I do not have that much experience with digital cameras, but having said that, I can't see any way that would mess up your camera. What I would suggest is to first charge your battery up fully and if that doesn't fix the problem then consult the manual and see how to set your camera back to the factory default settings.

If what is happening is that now after taking a picture the LCD doesn't work any more it could be that if you were using your battery to power the camera while watching pictures the battery has gotten low. On mine if the battery gets low the LCD screen will stop working so you can continue to take pictures. This would lead you to believe the pictures are black when in fact the camera just doesn't have the power to run the LCD screen to let you view the picture. If this is what is happening all you need is to charge the battery. You may still be able to take pictures but the LCD screen will not operate due to having a low battery. This is a battery saving mode so you won't totally be without a camera.

I would check it out good before sending it or taking it to anyone!!

I hope you take the time to let us know what you find what was wrong with your camera

I can't believe pulling the cord out of the TV could have messed up your camera. Please let us know what was wrong when you find out. I would be very interested to know.
    Thanks, Grandpaw

PS, I'm not a betting person but if I were I would have to put a $100.00 against it messing up your camera.
