[QUOTE=ustein]Here is a very interesting article on sharpening:

We will have some PS plugin soon that explores these findings.

Hi Uwe,

Interesting, but there are some questions and concerns I have. The first is I tend to notice images that are overhshapened have this effect but it doesn't translate well to print. Right now I'm using focalblade and have been fairly happy. My prints come out with a different, and better, IMO, effect than with PS USM. It just looks more "realistic" (for what that's worth); not falsely sharp, or too soft. (sharpening is probably the biggest problem I notice on people's prints).

I ask because my chromes always looked 3d, so there's always a slight let down when printinig. Digital images on the monitor also have a similar backlit effect to some degree too. I also notice a lot of "effects" that are produced on the screen just don't have that pizzazz when printed.

I'm old fashioned and I value the final prints the highest.
