Sony DSC-P100 Cyber-shot camera

Your help would be appreciated with the following, I’m using a Sony DSC-P100 Cyber-shot camera, connected to a PC using Windows XP to download the images onto; there are no problems in relation to connecting the camera and downloading the images.

The problem is that I’m unable to delete the images from the camera when it is attached to the PC, what I have to do to delete the images is to manually delete each of the images one at a time from the camera, as the camera won’t allow me to delete directly using the PC.

I would appreciate any help with the above; as I wish to delete the images using the PC, and not have to manually delete the images from the camera.

I am the administrator of the PC, I have been able to delete images from the camera before using the PC, but for some reason I’m now not able to do this.

u could do it once but u cant do it now..??

windows sees your camera as a removable drive.. its possible that its got set (in windows) to "read only".. if so u wont be able to write to it or delete from it.. do u get an error message when u try and delete or what..

Cheers for your reply, no there are no error messages at all, as mentioned I’m unable to take control of the camera using the PC, all I can do is copy photos from the camera, and not cut or delete using the PC.

Any more help on the above would be great.

well how are u doing it.. are u useing some software that came with the camera.. or do u just "explore" in a windows kinda way then drag and drop.. not sure of your windows knowledge here but right clicking on the start button will give u the "explore" option.. left click it and see if your camera shows up as a removable drive.. it needs to be plugged in and powered up to do this..
