Shutter Delay

Im buying a digital p&s but I cant stand the delay. I've heard the Minolta G500 and the Canon S45 have the shortest shutter delays. Any other suggestions for a 4-5 MP camera?

Make sre you nderstand the difference between shutter lag and autofocus lag. Most P&S camera have very short shutter lag, but the incredibly slow autofocus makes it take forever before the picture is taken. Most P&S cameras are very workable if you prefocus, then reframe and when the subject falls into the area of focus, fire.

Check the autofocus speed as well as the shutter lag, they both need to be quick to cut down on the time it takes to take a picture.
