    Question Please Help me out!!!

Hi Guys...please...I need your help. I've always liked taking pictures, especially when I go on trips with my family and friends. However I did not like digital cameras at first...I just wasn't familiar with them. But for some time now I've been saving to buy a digital camera, but I have no clue which one to buy. My budget is $500, I would greatly appreciate if one of you guys that know more about digital cameras could give me some recomendations on which one to get and where to get it. Thank you so much

Been waiting a while for an answer, haven't you?

It would be useful to know what type of shooting you do, what size prints you generally desire, and what camera features are important to you. This info might help in drawing more recommendations.

I am primarily a film shooter, but I also pay attention to what 'the digital side' is saying in the Minolta user groups that I frequent. Going strictly by your price range, I can suggest Minolta's Z-1 ($349), Z-2 ($449), and the new Z-3 ($549) as viable contenders. These are good all-around models, which are getting quite good reviews from those who use them. Each features a wide-ranging built-in zoom lens, and good automation and manual capabilities - covering you from point & shoot simplicity thru full manual operation.

They are readily found in most larger Wal-Marts - or at B&H (http://www.bhphotovideo.com), the only net/mail-order house I'll personally recommend.

    Sandovala,

There is a FAQ at the top of the message board with suggestions on how to ask this exact question. Your post was very general, and that is likely why no one has responded.

Please read over the FAQ and try to elaborate, it's nearly impossible to give good advice with so little to go on.

Click here in case you can't find it. FAQ >>

How to tell the most experienced shooter in a group? They have the least amount of toys on them.
