    PC lockup

I have a Finepix A101 and the PC often locks up when I try to download. Recently I added another camera (Canon 350D) and my PC downloading from the A101 has become much worse - it just won't and locks up the PC each time I try.
Is there interference between the two softwares and is there any way around the problem short of putting each camera on a different PC?

I take it that your using the FinePix software that came with the camera if so its buggy at the best of times . So to start try disabling the software and use file manager to direcly get your photos . Windows if your using windows should C your Camera as a storage device , just like a hard drive . Its worth a try . Let me know if it works or not .

Thanks for the suggestion Knight. I've always followed the instructions in the book carefully but your comment encouraged an alternative. Instead of setting USB to DSC, I just went ahead, plugged the camera into the PC and switched on while looking at the "My Computer screen".
The camera was recognised as Drive G and I was preparing to investigate the settings when in the background to pics appeared almost instantaneously. I don't know if this is the problem solved, I'll have to see what happens next time. I've also downloaded software and installed onto my wife's computer, so we have another option now.
