    batteries?

Hi, just got an Olympus c-150! It comes with some rechargable battries. I put in the battries and the power low error gets activated and the screen goes black. I don't have a recharger

OK, got myself some battries. Put two panasonic new battries in there. Same error! I get about 15 seconds of life out of it and then the little power symbol turns red and the screen goes dark again!

Problem with the camera or I need to get the battries that came with the camera charged or am I just using the wrong kind of battries and need a special kind?

    Thanks for the help

OK, I RTFM and it says you need Alkaline (sp?) batteries! I went and got some but was still only able to take 20 shots before the thing ran out of juice!!!

Manual only says that it recommends you use rechargeables. Will this REALLY make a difference???? What batteries can you recommend! Please help I am close to selling this ****.

Rechargeable batteries or not, it shouldn't make any difference.
I know that you don't like to hear this, but these are the symptoms of a hardware failure, nothing else.

Check the battery compartment, has there been battery leakage, is something causing short-circuit?

    Thanks for the reply

No, just had a look and it seems clean. It's a brand new camera! Got it today

What do you think? Should I send it back?

Yes, of course. That's what warranty is all about, to deal with these kind of things. Btw, this looks more like a DOA (dead on arrival). I wouldn't be satisfied with a repair at all, I would demand a new one immediately and I don't think it's wrong to ask for this. Whether that store thinks the same... I don't know, all I can do is wishing you good luck.

I just emailed the company and told them it's broken and asked for my money back. I don't trust them now! So will get my money back and buy the same camera from some other place. Or maybe will go for the canon A60 this time!

Well, thank you for your advice
