Susan Sontag - 1933-2004
Author, activist, and director, Susan Sontag, died this morning after a long battle with breast cancer. The actual cause of death has not been announced. She was 71 years old. She was best known as an essayist and photographers knew her for the book, On Photography (1977), which won the National Book Critics' Circle Award for Criticism.
