Lexar Media Announces its 1 Gigabyte Secure Digital
Memory Cards

Las Vegas, February 12, 2004 (PMA, Booth H100) -- Lexar Media, Inc. (Nasdaq: LEXR), a leading manufacturer and marketer of high-performance digital media and accessories, today announced that it has doubled its highest capacity Secure Digital (SD) memory card to 1 gigabyte. Lexar’s new larger capacity Secure Digital card allows users of SD compatible devices to capture more digital pictures, store more digital video, and listen to MP3s for longer periods of time. In a form factor roughly the size of a postage stamp, Secure Digital memory cards will now be available from Lexar Media in capacities from 32MB to 1GB.

1GB of memory capacity is equivalent to storing over 500 high-resolution JPEG images (with a 4 megapixel digital camera), 16 CDs worth of music, or close to 6 hours of MPEG 4 digital video – on one compact, interchangeable memory card.

“Consumers continue to demand greater storage for their cameras, MP3 players and PDAs,” said Dave Klenske, Director of Product Marketing, Lexar Media. “The freedom associated with more storage space is incredible, and our new 1GB Secure Digital card will satisfy those who prefer to use their consumer electronics devices without limitations,” he added.

SD media cards are compatible with a wide range of digital products requiring removable storage such as video and digital still cameras, audio players, cellular phones, automotive
multimedia systems and handheld PCs.

Lexar’s 1GB Secure Digital memory card will be available at consumer electronics stores
worldwide this spring, with an estimated retail price of $499.99.
