PhotoImaging & Design Expo and Lexar Team-Up
to Showcase Joe McNally Exhibit
"Wings of Change" Exhibit to Appear at Photo Trade Show

San Diego, CA (March 30, 2005) – PhotoImaging & Design Expo 2005, the industry's most talked about trade show, announced today that it will team up with Lexar Media, Inc., a world leader in advanced digital media technologies, to present a selection of the best images from the December 2003 National Geographic cover story, "Wings of Change", about the state of modern aviation.

Photographer Joe McNally, a long time contributor to the National Geographic and former staff photographer at LIFE, spent over 6 months pursuing flight in all of its forms, from the backseats of F-16's and FA-18's, to the flight deck of the carrier Abraham Lincoln, to futuristic pilot-less prototypes. Select prints from this assignment will be on display at the upcoming PhotoImaging & Design Expo.

McNally is a noted photographer, having been a recipient of the Alfred Eisenstaedt Award for outstanding magazine photography. He has been honored by several of the following: Communication Arts, Applied Arts, Photo District News, Pictures of the Year, The World Press Photo Foundation, The Art Directors' Club, American Photo, and Graphis. He has also worked on numerous "Day in the Life" projects. One of McNally's most notable large scale projects, "Faces of Ground Zero - Giant Polaroid Collection", has become known as one of the most primary and significant artistic responses to the tragedy at the World Trade Center.

"Joe's photographic talent and versatility are matched only by his determination and ability to get the one-of-a-kind shot and tell the story often under very complex conditions," said John Omvik, director of professional product marketing at Lexar. "Whether pulling G's or pushing the envelope of digital photography, Joe's unique signature is unmistakable. This collection of images from the first 'all digital' National Geographic cover story is simply stunning and we are pleased to help bring this exhibit to PhotoImaging & Design in San Diego."

In addition to the photo exhibit, McNally will be one of the expo's conference speakers, hosting both an Opening Day photo shoot, and a conference session, What it Takes to Pull off Productions Big and Small where he will share how he gets from the assignment to the execution and everything that happens in between.

"We are extremely excited that Joe's work will be such an integral part of this year's PhotoImaging & Design Expo," says Tom Pellet, Group Vice President. "His work is very powerful, and this exhibit will be a great addition to our show floor."

The PhotoImaging & Design Expo will be held April 19-21, 2005, at the San Diego Convention Center. An all-inclusive three-day package provides access to seminars, live shoots, and the exhibit hall, as well as entrance into networking events including a cocktail reception on opening day and lunch on the trade show floor on closing day.
