    Wacom Cintiq Display Price Reduction

Record Sales Allow Wacom To Crop Prices
    On Cintiq Interactive Pen Displays

VANCOUVER, WA, April 1 -- Wacom Technology Corp. today announced major
price reductions on its Cintiq interactive pen displays. Record sales
have made it possible for Wacom to pass on significant savings to its
Cintiq customers. Now, more digital artists, designers, and photographers
can enjoy the benefits of working with a pen directly on screen.

Effective immediately, the Cintiq 18SX will be reduced $1000 to $2499
and the Cintiq 15X will be reduced $400 to $1499. The Cintiq 18SX has an
    18.1" SXGA display (1280 x 1024) and the Cintiq 15X has a 15" XGA display
(1024 x 768). Both products ship with a custom ICC profile to ensure a
    high level of color accuracy.

Cintiq interactive pen displays combine the advantages of an LCD monitor
with the control, comfort, and productivity of Wacom's patented cordless,
battery-free pen tablet technology. By working directly on the screen,
users can work with greater natural precision and navigate more quickly.
Many professionals claim that using a Cintiq has actually doubled their
    productivity.

"We are very pleased that the success and popularity of our pen
technology has allowed us to make these significant price reductions that
will enable studios of all sizes to enjoy an accelerated digital
workflow," said Michael Marcum, Cintiq product manager. "A Cintiq
interactive pen display allows users to work faster and more naturally
because of the intuitive hand-eye coordination that comes with using a
pen directly on the screen," he added.

In addition to lower prices, Wacom also announced a leasing program that
will allow qualified applicants to enjoy the benefits of a Cintiq for low
monthly payments. Cintiq interactive pen displays are available through
www.WacomDirect.com and now free ground shipping is included with every
    Cintiq order.

Cintiq interactive pen displays are built using Wacom's Penabled
components to ensure that users enjoy the natural feel and superior
performance of Wacom's patented cordless and battery-free pen technology.

Must be having trouble selling them John, this is a normal marketing strategy when that happens. Pity they wouldn't lower the price of the Digital Tablets as well.

    Maybe

Those monitors are very neat, but also way out of the price range of even most serious photographers and designers. I think tablet prices have come down a lot in the past few years, though. Can't you get them for under $100 US now?
