    Freestyle Photo

Anyone have experience with Freestyle Photo? They carry a lot of film and developing supplies - looks like a great resource for a film shooter and I plan to try them out soon. Just curious about overall experiences, how fast orders are shipped, etc.

Looks like they have a 10/10 Lifetime Rating at Reseller Ratings: http://www.resellerratings.com/store...aphic_Supplies

I hope that's the case. They have some stuff I want to try out that I can't find anywhere else.

    Re: Freestyle Photo

Just a follow up - I placed an order last weekend and they shipped it out the next business day. Since they're in LA and I'm near Chicago, that meant I didn't get it until Friday but I could always pay for premium shipping if needed. Everything was in stock, prices including shipping were fair and I'll use them again in the future. Only down side was that I got a box full of styrofoam packing peanuts...

B&H has an advantage for me in that if I order over the weekend they'll usually ship it on Sunday so I'll get it on Wednesday. Nothing against Freestyle for this, but if I need it I'm more likely to go this route than pay premium shipping. However, Freestyle has plenty of film related stuff that B&H doesn't have so that might not be possible.

I had requested a catalog from them two weeks ago and didn't get it, but I suspected that they might include one with my order - which they did. I also wasn't surprised not to see it after two weeks because stuff like that usually goes by media mail which is always slow, especially this time of year.

I've dealt with freestyle and had good rersults from them. As you said, they have stuff most businesses don't carry and their prices are good. They also have good deals from time to time so you need to watch the catalog and web site. I get a catolog and in two days it is soggy. I guess I need to get a drool container?

    Re: Freestyle Photo

Finally ended up placing an order with Freestyle this weekend. Ordered a bunch of B&W film and paper chemicals, some paper, and the rest of what I need for a basic darkroom set-up. Ordered on Saturday night and got an email a little after saying 2 of the items I ordered were on backorder They are closed on weekends, so I called their customer service line today and they were extremely friendly and helpful. One of the back-ordered items was RC paper that was on closeout. The rep I talked to put me on hold and went running out to the retail store and tracked down the last couple boxes of paper. He made sure I got the last 2 boxes The other item was some paper developer which they just ran out of and was back-ordered until mid-March. Swapped that to another developer. He said that the 2 backorder items would be going out individually since they were still classified as back-order items but, there would be no extra shipping charges. Just wanted to post this as this was probably the most positive experience I have had dealing with anyone on the phone when mail-ordering. Barring any problems receiving my order, I have definitely found where I will be ordering from now on.

Got in the last of my 3 packages from Freestyle today. It's official, I won't shop anywhere else now. The customer service is better than any place else I have shopped at and the packing job was way beyond anything I have received to date, including B&H and Adorama. Thanks again to the good folks at Freestyle

I looked at reseller.com and there are zero reviews for the last six months. You may consider writing them one, Jeff

    Re: Freestyle Photo

I recently bought a lens from Freestyle Photo. It shipped very fast and I was very pleased with everything that came. They even included a magnet and a thank you card. I however ordered the wrong lens, it was completely my fault. I muffed up the order but sent it back and they refunded me fully for the lens. Although I don't have any products from them at the time they were a wonderful company to work with and I recommend them if they have the product you want for a good price.

    Great company to work with!!!

I go there in person, they have quite a selection of film goods. The people there are ready to help at moments notice.
