Canon EOS 30D priced $500-600, but it is a bait only!

Vedors which practice bait & switch and false advertisement are: Royal camera, CCI, USA photonation.com, Expresscamer, BestPriceCameras, BananaBoatCamera, Century21Electronics.com.

USA photonation is a shady, high pressure company that works hard to sell you add ons. I feel lucky because I did get the Canon PowerShot A710 IS with the optional 1GB memory card for $328.98 delivered to my home in 6 days with standard shipping. YEAH! But I had to tell (sales rep.) Nathan no at least 15 times to all the other add ons like: No to the extended warranty, no to the $194.00 memory card, no to the high priced rechargeable batteries, no to the extra lenses, no to the camera care kit, etc. When the camera came today I did not get the Canon 16mb memory card, warranty card or Canon Customer support Literature, plus the camera box had the serial number cut off the bottom. When I called USA photnation.com I was puton hold for 22 minutes. Steve in service said I would have to ship everything back and they would send me a new camera and everything should be included. I'll keep what I got and hope it does not need service. It would be neet if I could register the camera on line with Cannon. Be careful with USA photonation.com. Sincerely Pgh.Harley

They will probably send you the same camera with the add ons you said no to and still charge your card. You got a grey market camera, and canon will not service your camera if anything goes wrong.

I placed an order in 2007 from usaphotonation.com. They sold me an international camera and now Nikon won't honor the repair because I was not provided with proper paperwork. But their website is now down and their phone number does not work. Any suggestions on how to get help?

There was a lawsuit earlier this year that found many of the Brooklyn based electronic stores guilty of consumer fraud. As a result, some promised to change their practices, and others went out of business. It's possible that the dealer you purchased from is long gone.

Will Nikon not fix your camera at all, or will they fix it but not cover the cost? My guess it that the camera is out of warranty so I'm not surprised they wont fix it for free if that's the case.

When I need to have my gear looked at and it's out of warranty, my first choice is to have a local repair shop look at it. (When I say local, it's over an hour away.) If they can't fix it, I send it in. If Nikon wont look at it at all for you I would try to find a local shop to fix it.
