I like your little idea here. The contrast of the green against the brown. I would however, point out that the tree blends in a bit in the lower branches with the brown earth. Maybe a different perspective next time. A very nice photo. Keep up the good work.

I'd echo Dzerzhinski's comments and add that a different time of day, and thus different light which would change the tree's shadow. Great colors.

I'd love to see this at sunrise or sunset. The colors would be awesome.

This is nice. You definitely have an eye for the unique landscape. I can never find compositions like this, even when they are right in front of me. It looks like something from the movie toys, a little surreal, but very familiar. I like the light, although I wonder what it would look like with a polarized blue sky with harsh overhead light, with the tree shadow directly below the tree.

What an interesting subject. All alone! Great shot, and I would agere with the perspective, and the sunrise/sunset idea.

Nice shot,

Jared

AR..........I like the subject (See "My favorite Tree @ Sunrise").
You definately have an eye for these unique settings.
Did you have to do any cloning in the plowed field or is it just that smooth?

Beautiful photo. I'd crop the top to where the sky is about 1/4 to 1/3 of the shot and hang it on the wall. The field is just reddish enough to work very well with the green patch and orangish enough to work with the blue sky. All the other suggestions may produce very nice photos as well, but I think this is very strong as it stands.

I gotta agree with chunk...the suggestions mentioned below would have made the picture stronger, but it stands as it is. This was a great find and your composition is very nice. There are lots of ways to have taken this picture and I think you nailed it.

I'm always doing B&W photos and never carry color...a picture like this makes me realize that is not the wisest of decisions. :D

Cheers.

WOW. Great shot AR.
I agree with taking it again with a different perspective. Maybe so most of the tree is against the sky and not half against the ground. Very nice shot nevertheless.

Hey Leels

The problem taking the shot again is I took it before the raining season and now the plowed field all green and green ;)

I'll give it another shot maybe next year :)

Thx

NICE ONE!
This is a great photograph, but yes the light is a bit harsh. I think better light would bring out the texture of the plowing.
I love the textures and the colors and the lines of hills.

This is a great composition and i enjoy it. but it does seem to me, as I mentioned in another one of your shots, that there seems to be alot of noise reduction going on as the details in the field, especially the fg seem to be lost. Nice pic anyhow

I enjoy this image a lot. I like the isolation of the tree, all alone on its patch of green amidst the brown earth. It's almost as if it's making a statement! :) Aesthetically, I would prefer no shadow at all - to enhance its sense of isolation. Also, I agree with some others that if the color of the tree were altered a little bit - maybe a different shade of brown or, then that would further help differentiate it from the earth and make it stick out a little more. God bless PS! LOL

Thanks for posting!

Cheers, Stew

I do think this is an interesting subject and just love the trees and the rolling hills. the colors are fantastic but I agree with everyone else on catching this at a different time of day. It probably would've came off alot more dynamic without such harsh lighting, otherwise great shot!
