My first submission to this forum. Be kind. The window shot is mine inside the Metropolitan Museum of Art near the Egyptian display with Central park in the background. The second is my wife's shot of a field in Central Park.

Interesting shots. Definately my favourite shot is the first one, love that reflection on the water, great composition. The second one doesn't do much for me, but technically, you did a good job of hiding the sun behind the tree. I just don't seem to have a strong enough subject to look at.
Good shooting and welcome to PR,
Jared

I like both too. The top one is stronger but I'm a sucker for naked trees in winter and I like the composition.

Both are interesting picures -- the second would be stronger (in my openion only) to be cropped tighter to the child, just showing her, the snow and trees in the back ground. Keep up the goodwork!

Thanks so much for the comments. This forum thing is great. I tried cropping the second image a little. I didn't to crop too tightly on the child as I thought that the lack of color in the image in general along with the tiny dolop of pink running across was a beautiful idea (total luck BTW) I was thinking of doing that cool trick with the B&W picture and just that part being in color.... anyway, what do you think of this cropping? Also I didn't want to lose the lamppost. I am a huge sucker for lampposts :D

I like your crop.
If you're a sucker for lampposts check the shot here(scroll to bottom):

Wow. Very nice. I actually like all of them ( except the zoom shot almost made me toss my cookies ). Now that's a lamppost.

Well if the purpose was to imply motion, excellent work! ;)
