Rebekah VillenaDeCorte gahspidy 02-21-2005, 07:00 PM I'm impressed Kelly. I like this alot. The womans profile has so much character, really good. Is this your own creation completely or are you moceling this after someone in particuliar. opus 02-21-2005, 09:28 PM I'm impressed Kelly. I like this alot. I've made some changes, reworked the mouth, fine-tuned the cheeks, raised and reformed the eyes, and added more details since that picture. It is *supposed* to be modeled after Ellen Degeneres. But I haven't managed to capture the "spark" of what makes her, her. I like to say I created someone neat, but it's not ellen. But since this is my first time sculpting ANYTHING of this caliber, (I dabbled a bit in high school but never did clay, never did a face, only did two projects that I remember), I'm pretty proud of it. I suppose if I made a dozen more, I might end up with something more to ellen's likeness. What's interesting is, when I finished to the point of the picture I took above, I stepped back and realized that I had sculpted something that looked very much like ME 25 years ago. I talked to two art teachers who said it's common to have your work turn out to look like yourself, since you're so familiar with your own body. :) Anyway, I digress. Here is the latest, and mostly finished, bust. We're presenting them in class on Wednesday. gahspidy 02-21-2005, 09:39 PM I'm not seeing Ellen in this too much either, but , in any case, it is still looking good and that profile is great. definetely keep at it. that top picture is good with the work area environment in the bg. nice feel to it adina 02-22-2005, 04:42 AM Wow! Look how crafty you are! Considering you said this is your first real attempt at this, I'd say it's really good. I kinda see Ellen, but I see what you mean about that "spark" Nice job! adina Chunk 02-22-2005, 05:23 AM It is *supposed* to be modeled after Ellen Degeneres. I think there's a lot more of you and your spirit coming from this than Ellen and it's all the better for that. Thought you said you didn't like getting your hands dirty (or something like that) when discussing my pottery wheel pic.:D opus 02-22-2005, 07:59 AM Wow. That's terrific. Thought you said you didn't like getting your hands dirty (or something like that) when discussing my pottery wheel pic.:D Chunk, I seem to remember the basic tone of my post to your pottery wheel pic was *jealousy* that I didn't have a space like that to work in, myself. :D But that's all fixed, now. |
