Dudley JK_Photo 01-27-2005, 11:03 AM WOW, that's cool! Pump the contrast and it will be even better. Comp. is good IMO. ShotsbyScott 01-27-2005, 11:11 AM Looks like a nice old place. You have captured it well with the big oak tree with the sunlight. Would like to see more from this old place. Keep'em coming. Scott PlantedTao 01-27-2005, 11:23 AM Wow - great shot. You really did a nice job with the composition. The lighing on this shot is fantastic and really makes the shot. This is a post card shot for sure. :) I have to agree with the others and would like to see more shots of this cabin. Great job. Cheers. BamaFru 01-27-2005, 11:25 AM Yay! Another Alabama dweller! (Even if you are in the Northern part.) Your spec on the map is even smaller than mine...LOL!!! Ok, are my eyes deceiving me? There is some visual effect going on with these trees that is blowing my mind. Almost a feathery 3D (What in the world??) Love that cabin. I agree w/Jon on the contrast. I almost wish those trees weren't there so I could see more of this lovely find. But I like being fizzazzled. Good find! Eagle_Eye 01-27-2005, 02:47 PM Thanks alot for the comments! I hope to get back to the old cabin for some more work. This was a quick on the way to work shoot. As far as the contrast thing, that seems to be my biggest weekness. In other words, I have hard time knowing when enough is enough. I guess I was just going for a softer look on this one. Thanks, Dudley JK_Photo 01-27-2005, 03:00 PM Yeah, I'm completely fizzazzled(??good one) by the feathery trees as well :D Looks almost like you shot it in the spring(maybe it is spring there?) Is that place abandoned? If so, get in there and shoot! It's so cool looking. cjsoap 01-27-2005, 03:28 PM Really nice shot.It reminds of an old cabin we used to hang out in Fresno, CA and do skeet shooting. Brought back good old memories for me. Hope we get to see more. CJ mjs1973 01-27-2005, 03:49 PM I really like this shot. The light in the tree, the composition, it all works for me. This image has a very interesting feel to it that makes me want to keep looking at it. It almost appears to be painted on canvas to me. A definate spot to return to in the future. Great work! Eagle_Eye 01-27-2005, 06:36 PM Greetings Jon, I took this photo a couple weeks ago on one of our 24 degree mornings. This cabin is near the location where I shot my last post, “Old Crib and an Old Oak Tree.” I am working on getting the ok for some close ups. The owner has horses in the pasture where cabin is located. Thanks CJ. Maybe the folks that lived in this old place used to shoot Quail from the front porch. Ha Ha Michael, I appreciate the comments. I had already checked out the lighting at this location and determined that morning time would probably be better. I was happy with the outcome. Thanks all, Dudley CarbonTerry 01-27-2005, 10:21 PM Nice photo. :) :) It appears to me that the cabin and shed are leaning to the right. Maybe they were in reality. After looking at a ground glass with grid lines on it for 30 years, I see stuff like that. :p I certainly wouldn't change the conreast. It has a great feel right now. |
