Hi,

I am a new member, this is mainly a test to see if I can post a thread. I took these pictures two weeks ago at the Salt Lake City zoo.

Thanks

Seb

Wow, The Utah faction of this board is stronger than I thought. I think the last two images are really good. The heart shape of the two Swans (?) is very cool and the quisical look on the monkey's face is great! Keep 'em coming.

Off to a very good start!

The first looks soft, the highlights are blown and the composition is poor. The angle looking down at the bird makes it seem like a snapshot. Get lower, show us what the birds themselves see.

The second is good timing, but the framing should have been lower to encompass the entire se of bills, and avoid the empty space on top of the frame.

THe third is great, I love the compsitions, exposure, subject and timing. I would not change a thing, I don't think anything could improve upon it. Any changes might make it a different image, but not necessarily better.

Oh my, the middle one is great with the heart shape the two birds make. It would have been nice if their beaks wasn't cut off, but its a great shot.

I love the monkey as well, he's got an excellent expression on his face.

image 2 pair of american white pelicans
image 3 gold lion tamarin

the ibis is the weakest
the pelicans need vertical
and the tamarin ROCKS!

I agree with you, the one with the monkey is the one I like the most, even if I wish it was sharper (but I was at 1600 iso and not a "L" series 300 mm). Thank you for replying to my post.

The third is the best. Really nice photo with good color, clarity, and subject is very appealing. Second could have been great as well but as others stated the shot is cut too tight from the lower half.
First pic not so good.

Good stuff

Yes, I think the one of the gold monkey is your beter shoot too.
The placement of the little guy works very well. Not to mention the expression he has on his face.
