What do you all think if this sunset shot? Is it too cliche? I am not sure what the exposure settings were... Any suggestions for next time around?

loose the wide angle view of the foreground foliage is my suggestion, but remember that one man's art is another's gargage and vice versa.

so, to better THIS SCENE, i'd suggest a small pop of fill flash(if you can) to illuminate the foreground slightly to give it just alittle detail

Your shot looks soft, did you use a tripod? I like your idea of framing the sunset with the trees/bushes, but I think you've got too much of them. I'd crop the whole right half of the photo, leaving you with a portrait composition instead of this landscape composition.

No tripod. I was at the in-laws cabin, and without the tripod. I wish I would have had one, the horizon may be more level. Thanks to you and paulnj for the feedback. I will remember that for next go 'round. Especially the fill flash, at the time that never crossed my mind...

I really can appreciate what you were doing with this image. I agree that a little less foliage and fill flash would be better, but I love the idea to frame it in that thick foliage. I think it really gives a sense of place as well as keeping it from being "just another sunset shot".
