Any suggestions for a good tripod to use with the Panasonic AG-DVX100A?

I'm in the process of buying the Panasonic after a couple of years of borrowing various camcorders from a community organization.

I'll use the camera for on-street interviews (guerilla-style), as well as for indoor, half-day shoots. In the future, I'd like to use the Panasonic's 24P feature to shoot short movies.

Although I look forward to using the camera in 24P, I understand that the image can become jerky and choppy in that mode when panning. So, I'd like a tripod that can, among other things, minimize the choppiness that can occur during a pan.

I appreciate the advice of those who've walked this path before me.

It really depend on how much money you want to spend, I use quite a few of the moderately priced Bogen/Manfrotto units. I really like the 501 head on a claw/ball mount teamed up with either a pair of two or three stage legs. Check out the following link and good luck. Just remember, buy one size bigger than you think you need for smooth movements.
