Hi,

I am looking for any broken digital cameras, preferly SLR models. Anyone has any ideas of where is a good place to seek that kind of stuff? I know about ebay, but anywhere else besides that?

by broken I mean cameras that are being dropped, crushed or damaged. Looking forward to hear from you all.

Thanks in advance,
KJ

Other than ebay, I'm not really too sure... Well - there was a guy that used to hang around here that dropped his share of equipment too...

I don't know if you have Photo Fairs in the States but in France there are several events where people buy & sell cameras, including broken ones. The biggest one is in a village called Bievres, just outside Paris, first Sunday in June.

I might come and visit, just to see the camera fair !
Might be a suitable event for a European gathering?

The Bievres fair is certainly international. The Germans, Dutch, Russians, Swedish etc. usually arrive with their stands on Friday night and start camping out in the center of the village till Sunday evening. Most of the other professional hardware sellers arrive on Saturday so I go down on Saturday night to see if there is anything interesting. On Sunday the Artists arrive and occupy the stands set out for them. All this in a village which feels like you're out in the country but in fact you're only 8 miles from Paris.

I would certainly be present for a European gathering. No choice - I live close by.

*le sigh*

But anyway, KEH.com's as-is section is also a good place to find broken cameras, though I get the feeling that theirs aren't smashed up - just inoperable. Check it out - http://www.keh.com/shop/class.cfm?bid=AI&sid=newused&crid=9184917
