As the title states, what is the best digital video camera for a beginner like me? I don't really know the price of the cameras so I can't give a price range, but I'm assuming that they are over $150 or more.

Given good light (sunny outdoor) it takes very clear pictures for a consumer DV. You can get the ZR60 for fairly cheap, which just doesn't have the memory card for still shots (worthless anyway) and loses a little zoom. But yes, it will be more than $150, not sure of the going price right now, though. our ZR75MC was around $400-$450, I think Like I said, given good light it takes great video for the price, indoors; however, the quality does suffer, but virtually all consumer cams have this problem. The nice thing is the ZR has a hotshoe, so you can put a light on there. We have a 10w light that helps a little. Don't really have any experience with other cams.
