i've seen a few black canon digital rebels. are they any different from the regular silver looking ones? or is the casing just a different colour?

They were originally offered only in Japan. The announcement came about 4/5 months after the introduction of the initial model.

In Japan the model is called "the Digital Kiss", Europe is designated as the "300D" and the US/Canada as the "Digital Rebel".

The 300D name and Digital Rebel are both used interchangeably for most purposes.

If you have actually seen the black bodied camera - chances are they were purchased in or from Japan.

Oh, my apologies. You're talking about camera equipment.

Nevermind... :D

I saw a black 300D (aka Digital Rebel) in my local store yesterday. No way they would sell a grey import. If Canon are importing it to Europe I would expect it to also appear in the States.

so the camera is in no way inferior to the regular silver rebel?
