Let me just say that I am no where close to you guys. These are my first shots. So keep that in mind when criting them, Ok thanks. These shots i took when I recieved my Digital camera, just some pics around the house. Tell me what you guys thinks, could i have done more to improve the shots. thanks for the input.

I'm not much of a photographer myself, but I will say this; If you enjoy it...........who cares what anyone else says. Are you going to be trying to make money with your photography?

Who knows why some photos get ignored and others get tons of replies. You can't take it personally.

It looks like your new camera has decent macro capabilities. I like the lily (or is that a lady's slipper? Whatever, the white flower!) picture the best because it doesn't have the straight-on composition of the other 3. It also has some limited depth of field, which I like in this case. However, a little bit more dof might be better. Are you using a tripod? You'll want to do so for macro shots.

For the shot of the dog, you want to focus on the eyes. Unfortunately, because of his/her tousled fur, we can't see much of the eyes. Catchlights in the eyes would really give the subject life.

These weren’t exactly what I was expecting to see in a post of macro shots. The first one I really don’t care for. I don’t like how I can tell that the flower is artificial and I don’t care for the harsh direct lighting.

I find the second shot to be quite a bit better. I like the composition and use of lines.

The third shot is the only one that I personally would think of as being a macro-type shot. The texture of the leaf is what makes the picture interesting but I think there needs to be something more to make this a “good” picture. As it is not I would tank it is an ok picture. I also don’t particularly care for the brown spots on the bottom of the leaf.

The last shot is well done. Focus looks nice and sharp and the expression is very nice. Very cute picture.

Thanks for all the comments, it is much appreciated. I am not going to be making money with the camera, First off I just want to be having fun with it, and see if I can take some good pictures.

I did not use a tri-pod for any of the shots, but I am going to get one soon. As I have noticed that in not so bright light the images come out blurry when I dont use the flash.

I like the lilly and the leaf myself aswell. The dog is Chuckles, wierd name for a dog I know, but she is my dog, energetic as all hell this is the only time that I could get a shot of her standing still.
