from PCH1 just north of Big Sur. Had to take a trip up north this weekend to take my mother home to Kenwood, near Sonoma, and the wife and I decided to take the Pacific Coast Highway for the ride home. All in all we spent about 13 hours on the road today but it was worth it.
This is the only picture tonight I have time to post. Though a mid-day shot, the light was being perfectly diffused by the marine layer.
Will post a few more pics tomorrow after work, including some that I took practicing with my new flash.

That's amazing scenery...between you and the bowhays I'd love to live in Cali

Here's a few more from our trip.
#1 My sister's grapevines in her backyard. In another couple weeks they'll be bottling wine with this batch.
#2 Dr. Buckner & company. I met Dr. Buckner (middle) in Coalinga at a gas station. He's a Southern Baptist pastor and has a radio show called "Contending for the Faith", which airs every Saturday on KFAX AM 1100 from 8–9 pm.
#3 In my sister's yard was this weird orb thingy ma-bob, which provided an interesting perspective for a picture. Too bad it was all messed up from dog slobber, which I wasn't about to clean! The German Shepherd that I'm trying to hold back is my sister's dog, Kayla.
#4 Another coast shot, north of Big Sur.

Dear Ray:
That last shot is so pretty and looks exactly like the area North of Big Sur. I really like it! Good work and, thank you for sharing these.
Best to You,
Penny
Thanks Penny. Yes the coast north of Big Sur is just extraordinary to say the least. And the weather was just perfect, ranging from 64 to 72 degrees!
Here's just a few more...
#1 Some more grapes from my sister's miniature vineyard.
#2 Claudia, when we stopped at Big Sur River's Inn for a few snacks.
#3 And last, my wife did a great job of taking this shot of yours truly.

Thanks Brian and Paul. Yes, when my wife gets the camera (which is rare, hehe) she doesn't do a bad job at all. Now that I've shown her how well she did, I think she's gonna be asking to use the camera a lot more! Hopefully she'll develop an interest in it and then we'll have to get her a camera of her own.

I have to share just one more...this is my sister's dog, Kayla. A real sweetheart of a German Shepherd but boy is she a difficult model. Can't get her to hold still for nothing. All she wants to do is play fetch with the stick!
