Has anyone purchased from Camera World or Amazon.com? I know Amazon is a big, well known retailer, but I wasn't sure if anyone had any problems with service, returns, etc. with them. Thanks!

The online retail company, Camera World, is actually owned by Ritz Camera. Which is actually a different company than the retail Ritz stores you see in the mall. Ritz online bought the Web incarnation of Camera World from the store in Portland Oregon about 2001, if I remember right. Ritz is a solid and reliable online dealer, although I don't find their prices very compelling.

Amazon is becoming more and more of a middleman. So if you buy something from them, you may discover that you're buying it from someone else. That makes me a little nervous. So make sure to research the actual vendor if you buy something on Amazon.com and notice that they're actually selling you something from another dealer.
