Hi im looking to put together a slideshow of sports pictures and i want something that isnt ment for fliping through family photos and im using windows

I use Nero Photoshow. It makes a pretty fancy slideshow which can be converted to AVI and mpeg files for upload and making DVDs. The Nero Photoshow site archives your shows and you can refer your audience to the slide shows via link. The program includes a large (and growing) selevtion of music which you can legally use with the software.

Ditto Photodex producer. It allows you to save to 1080P HD video that can be encoded with 5.1 surround and burned onto a bluray disc. For slideshows on a computer it still allows for top notch results without cheesy transitions or image degradation.
