You know how it is with buses, you wait and wait and two come at once.
That doesn't apply to smart cars, at a smart meet, I think they travel together for a reason ...

i love those cars came really close to buying one,but the restricted space inside has kept my distance, still drawn to small cars, having a beetle growing up and those small older honda civic's even smaller than these smart cars.

The new model (451) with the squarer wheel arches has a few inches more boot space.
Seating room is like the tardis, particularly in the LHD versions.

For some odd reason on the RHD version for the UK they added 1" spacers under the seats and reduce headroom and increase body roll.
I always buy LHD :)

My Roadster Coupe now has 117250 miles on it - and it's doing a 6 hour endurance race in two weeks !

I couldn't get a RHD ... I already have too many body rolls...:D

Do many folks there prefer LHD?

The smart purists certainly.
Those who want the original blue plastic interior, not boring grey.
And the bright colour body panels and interior trim.

Smart went mainstream after a promising start, reducing the colour range and producing boring silver, grey, black with grey interior - just like any other car.

Since you can't buy LHD any more except as import or an old car, it's getting harder.
So my next car is probably going to have to come from Europe, to get the old mkIII body with leather interior and cabrio roof. I have a mkIII petrol cabrio in the garden for restoration or spares, minus 1 wheel and with a twisted subframe (you should see the car that hit me) which has a complete set of lights to convert LHD to road legal RHD lighting and speed in MPH not KMH.
