Hi,
I just bought a Canon SD890 camera. Whats the max write speed for it to write to a SDHC card. Based on that I am looking for a Sandisk UltraII (class4) or ExtremeIII cards(class6)
Thanks

I don't think the camera companies publish those specs. And I'm not convinced it makes that much difference. I just tried a 133x Lexar pro and a standard SanDisk SD card in my Canon SD950 IS. I set the camera for the Continuous capture rate and blasted away. I couldn't tell any difference in speed. And I don't believe SDHC offers and speed benefits. It stands for "Secure Digital High Capacity" and only offers capacities over 1 GB in SD cards.
So, I would buy a fast card, just in case it makes a difference. But I wouldn't worry too much about it. And unless you need the SDHC capacity, I would recommend buying a couple of 1GB non-SDHC cards because you get a lot more for your money. Unless you plan to shoot a lot of video. In that case, a 4 GB SDHC card makes a lot of sense.
