Hi all .. another picture from the Bluebell Woods. Oddly, this image looked familiar to me, and I discovered that I had taken one in almost exactly the same spot two years ago - but this is digital, whereas the other was film. Like the one I posted a day or so ago, this has the Orton effect applied.

Cheers

This is lovely. Sometimes that Orton effect is misapplied in my opinion. In this case it really enhances the image.

This one gets my vote as well. The path leading off into the woods adds a really nice dimension to the shot which the other one lacks. My only complaint is that the transition from flowers to woods happens right in the middle of the shot. I'd be curious to see a perspective with more flowers and less trees.

Very nice exposure and color as usual.

Mike, I must say that before I opened this thread I thought it would be hard to top the first one because I liked that one so much and felt the composition was very clever and appealing. Upon viewing this I thought "wow, he topped it" Great stuff here. The effect goes well and the composition perfect.
Really well done!

I really like this photo. The Orton effect just adds to alot to the trees in the background.

Thank you - you are all very kind - Thanks too for the sticky :)

With a bit of luck I might get in another trip to the woods this week - I'm trying to build up stock for next season's photo club competitions. These kind of shots work well as projected images.

Cheers

I agree with all the comments Mike. When it comes to "Effects" I am always the dubious one, but here it works, especially amongst the tree.

Mike - Looks like a scene from a fantasy movie, like the Enchanted Forest or ? Next thing you know, some rabbits and friendly skunks will come out of the bushes and escort you deeper into the forest. That's where the story begins, maybe.

So wow, the saturation is nice here. Really looks great on my monitor. I think there might be a very slight downward tilt from left to right. Do you see it? Is it natural, or did you unintentionally tilt the plane a tad? Might be worth straightening and seeing how it looks. Also, the slight softness looks great in the background trees but I wonder how it would look if the flowers and grass was a tad sharper.

Thanks for posting, definitely one of the better shots I've seen in the last month or so and definitely worthy of a sticky.

Ooh that's beautiful. Not sure I have any CC to offer here as I don't think there is any.
This reminds me, I must get Rogers framed. My finances are looking pretty good this month

Rod & Alison .. thankee kindly :)

GB1 - thank you also .. looking at it, I think you are right about a slight tilt. I'll deal with it. The softness is another matter though I think - the Orton effect is creates that so I am not sure how to deal with that, without losing the dreamy saturation which is also part of it.

Thanks for looking
Mike :)

Very nice. I'm expecting to see Shrek and Donkey come out of the woods.
