good pose, expression and setting
however the bright white from the light on her forehead is distracting, next time try blocking the light with something (perhaps your lease :) ) to get more even lighting on the face

I notice a circle of lighter area from her ear down the side of her face to her neck. ?

Good pic and well caught.Perhaps you could have tried a few with different DOF ? Very pretty lady but set of her chin tells me you should not mess this one about.Well able to take care of herself.lol

I agree with Bobby, shallower DOF might have improved it. BTW, I never noticed the flare, that's what Lara ismentioning as the bright circle.

I am starting to feel it might have been nice to get a shot that's a little wider, just to compare. Dunno the circustances of the shot though, so not sure if going wider would have even been possible.

I still like the lighting, especially the way it frames her face.

Perhaps it would have been better to have changed angle slightly to avoid the handrail in the background passing through her nose...not easy though when you're sat on a fast-moving, vibrating train!

I'd have been tempted to have moved back from the subject, using a longer focal length... that would have inherently narrowed the DOF and given a different perspective.

I never noticed the flare, that's what Lara is mentioning as the bright circle.


So flare is caused by bright light hitting the lens Seb?

I'm learning as well Hieu. :) This is a very nice shot. I've yet to take a good closeup.

The lens flare, probably what it is, is not a good thing to be there but does not take away from what is a very good shot. The lighting here is great and moody and the subject is a good one. I also agree about a little less dof would have helped make it better
