I've recently switched monitors so my calibration could still need some adjusting but the right side of the images seems very dark. There is detail but the overall feeling is heavy. I like the light poles, the contrast of the lines on the road and the dramatic sky very much though.

I am not sure how I feel about the vehicle in front of you blocking the convergence of all the lines in the image. The car being there could be ok but I would like to see the same image with all the lines reaching their end.

I'm also thinking the image is tilted just a bit to the right, you have the light pole on the left edge of the frame vertical which throws everything else slightly off, I think it would be better if you had the center towers correctly lined up and everything else slightly off.

Good, interesting and simple composition here Roger. The sky looks overworked on the screen of my wife's laptop but my shiny new monitor, when it arrives, could tell another tale.

Just rotated the image a little anti clockwise. hope that straightens it.

Just checked the original and the darkness comes from the angle of the sun (late evening) causing a silhouette in the fencing and a combination of the dark clouds that were following us home.

I have not used any modifications to the camera shot except for levels, small adjustment to curves, Channel mixer to convert to B&W and rotation.

Should I do a selective levels on the right side?

Tom, I'll be interested to see what you think when your new monitor arrives.

I agree with MB1, I would rather have seen the convegence, njot the car....perhaps if you stood up & took it out the sunroof (just kidding).

I also agree with MB on the car in front. But the right side is darker but it looks like the cause is the angle of the sun and that side is shaded. It would look odd to me if that side was bright with the long shadows of the cars. The top of the image also looks darker as though you had a circular polarizer or an ND grad on your camera? I like the high contrast B&W. It is a very good conversion.

Your spot on about the shadows but the darkness is from a very dark cloud above us which produced hail shortly after taking the photo. The view astern was black. No filters on the camera at all.

All: - As for the cars in front - this is the main crossing from Wales into England across the Severn River. There is never a quite time on this bridge. This is the quietest I have ever seen it.

Nice straightforward shot Roger. It works, seems contemporary. I wish the sky was a bit more dramatic, but giving the conditions not bad at all.
