Hi

I bought a CANON PowerShot SD870 IS in the USA. (Same as IXUS 860 IS in Europe).

My problem is that the charger is the American type (2 pin with narrow gap between the pins).

I've been told that if I use an adapter that I will simply fry the charger???

Any ideas re the best (& cheapest) solution? I've already been charged $60 for shipping & the customs charged me €52 duty. I'm gone off this camera big time already!!

Thanks

Gerry

Look on the charger.
Most today are multi-frequency multi-voltage.
The G9 I bought in the USA the charger works fine over here.

Look on the back of the charger, where is says INPUT:
If it says 100-240V AC 50/60HZ
Then it's going to work almost anywhere in the world.

I've used all my US camera battery chargers (Canon, Casio, Olympus, etc.) in Europe. They all work fine with an adapter attached.

I tried the adaptor & it worked fine.

Problem solved.
