Well I've come to one thing with which I've had difficulty doing with this cam. The high speed(6.5fps) shooting rate.
I see on all of the youtube videos and whatnot, the 40D can fire off a string of unlimited high speed shots when there is no card inserted, while mine can only shoot off 6 and then it switches to a low speed.. Whats up with this?? There isn't any card inserted so I dont know why it needs to slow down when the shots arent being written. Can anybody provide any insight?

Interesting Mike. I just tried this with my 40D and it kept right on shooting. Even with a card, I was able to rattle off about 25 shots (RAW) before the camera had to slow down a bit to write to the card.

I just tried it with mine. If I pointed it at a very dark subject it would seemingly shoot at high speed forever. But when I point it at my computer monitor it shoots 9 or so frames and then slows down and says "busy" in the viewfinder. Obviously, it's busy doing something. I'm not sure what, though.

found out something else. If you flip it to sports mode, it'll fire right through to 60 shots in raw no matter what I'm pointing at..

Hmmmm. I shoot in manual exposure mode. I like to make my own mistakes.

Not saying that I shoot in sports mode. I'm just saying that it does work in sports mode but not in manual or AV/TV..
I cant find any reason for this.. weird..

That is weird. I was testing mine in manual mode and it worked fine. I tried it with the lens cap on, and with it off pointing at my monitor.
