MB1 03-05-2008, 05:46 AM I think you have too much sky and not quite enough water in the frame. If you had shot from a few inches higher and pointed the camera down just a little bit more...... Were you using a tripod or did you have your camera propped against something? gahspidy 03-05-2008, 08:50 AM I like this as it is. What I like here is the low perpective. It brings my attention to the leaves in the fg which look to have been the focal point. The leaf coming up into the path of the water helps alot, and I think by bringing the camera up a bit and shooting down we would lose that and the white flow of water cutting across the image would be too dominant. As it is, nothing here is demanding of too much attention. there seems to be a nice balance of composition and a good flow to the image. If anything, I would say keeping the camera at the height that it was and just tilting it down a bit to get more of the leaves and a bit less of the sky would have improved, but still really good as you have it GB1 03-05-2008, 10:34 AM I like the perspective. It is interesting when someone takes a shot from an unusual angle instead of the standard 5 feet above the ground vantage pt....... The DOF seems good, though there is some softness in the shot .. not sure if that's due to lack of DOF, scanning, or what. I wish there was a bug or a small animal right there in the foreground :) G Overbeyond 03-05-2008, 12:24 PM It's a nice little shot and you choose a great viewpoint. For me though the weakest part of this shot is the water as I don't feel the slow shutter speed works on this small amount of water. Probably would work better on a larger fall but I always like to see water looking like water. Tyson L. Sparks 03-06-2008, 06:04 AM I think you got some great colors for this time of year in Ohio. I think if the Lab would have been drinking from the runoff, just kidding. Nice shot keep them coming, I need to get off of my duff and go for a walk myself. It's almost time to start my aerial photography back up again. Bakerman35 03-06-2008, 11:43 AM I think you have too much sky and not quite enough water in the frame. I had the camera setting on a rock. I was trying to keep it as low as I could to get this prospective. |
