it was very mild today for a winters afternoon and just could remain couped up any longer so late afternoon took a drive to the nearby park to shoot some birds with my point and shoot camera,these two are my best at a woodpecker of some kind.

I believe that it's an American 3 Toed Woodpecker.

According to my Audubons guide I concur on the 3 toed woodpecker... but just in case I will wait on paulnj to confirm it.

thanks all,this bird was very camera shy,every time i thrash about in the snow for a good view , the pecker would move to the other side of the tree.lol.
