I was driving when this hawk landed in a tree by the road. I couldn't get a real clear shot because of the branches.

Nice catch. This is the same image that was in your introductory thread? Not that there is anything wrong with that - just wondering.

I see that you are shooting "dead-on" - subject centered in your viewfinder. Try to do the final composition in-camera so that, if necessary later, you can crop without having to reposition the subject within the frame. To go with that, you may need to go full manual focus (which I highly recommend).
