With the temps below zero today, without the wind chill, I decided to stay home. I didn't even want to set up the blind to shoot the feeder birds today. I have been relaxing in the living room with a book, the fireplace and the Discovery Channel all day. On occasion, I have been looking to see what's going on at the feeders from the warmth of the house. I was surprised to see this guy checking out the feeders as well. I crabbed the camera, and opened the window for a few shots. It was interesting to see the coopers hawk tuck one foot up under his feathers. When a gust of wind would blow, he would have to grab on with both feet to keep his balance.

I really like the first shot. It's too bad it looks like he's being strangled by a branch. :( Very nicely done.

Thanks for looking and commenting everyone.

Mike, I agree about the branch going across the neck. I think I will try to clone that out before I print this.

Nice catch!

It doesn't get much better than when the critters come to the house - especially when the weather is nasty :)
