Anyone see any 80-200 F/2.8 ED-IF AFS lenses for sale on any online sites? If so, what are they going for in almost excellent condition. I have been looking, since I will be selling one, hopefully, in the near future, when someone gets the 70-200 in stock.

That's almost how much they are new! I bought one used five years ago, and the auto/manual switch doesn't stay locked on it. It's a simple (but of course fairly expensive) fix but since I always leave it on autofocus, I just lock it into position with a piece of gaffer's tape (yes, I'm cheap). These switches aren't the greatest - probably the weakest link in an otherwise very well built lens. However I've had two other lenses with the same switch, and never any problems.

80-200 f2.8 AFS - I was going say more like $1000, but KEH has them between 1079 and 1300. They may be going for more since the 70-200 VR has been out of stock everywhere for quite a while. No idea why that is...

Actually, on the regular used market I've seen the 80-200 AFS go for as low as $800 (when I got my most recent copy about 5 months ago) ranging up to $1000.

I bought my 18-200 vr from photografix unlimited a local camera shop for 648.00. might want to check them out. I found out best buy is about 200 bucks higher

I just checked with KEH and they offer me around $800+ for a LN-, which it it. I just did a thorough check of the lens, and there is not even a scratch anywhere on the body. Trying to figure out how it kept so clean considering I climb rocks with it.
I might just do a trade for a 70-200, plus a lot of cash, so I don't have to hassle with eBay.
