Hello Forum

Here is a flower shot that I took with my point and shoot camera. My Nikon P5100 can focus very close for macro shots. Here is an image that I feel gives it credit. What do you think? Please critique.

Nice shape and color to this image, good composition too. I do wish you had pointed the camera just a tad more to the left so that deadhead in the center left and the bud at the bottom left weren't cut off by the edge of the frame.

The flower itself is sharp and appears to be well exposed. Somehow I feel there's a color cast though. Also, I think the flower can use a better background. Right now it looks messy. The bottom left hand corner part of the photo seems out of line with the rest of the background. It it were mine, I would blur and darken the background. The positioning of the bud could be better, too.

MB1: I know what you mean about the bud being cutt off. I will be more careful next time. When I am using the point and shoot camera sometimes I get careless.
