Last Monday was such a beautiful day here in southern California. I was driving on the freeway when I took this picture. Please critique it.

I just landed in Michigan, coming from Chatsworth, CA. It really was a hot and sunny week for me. I like your pic. ;)

First of all I suggest you don't shoot and drive. Now for the pic.....

#1 The color balance is off (too cool). Notice the exit sign? The color should be a nice deep green and it looks really washed out. Easy to fix.

#2 Not a bad composition from a car or otherwise but I would make a very small crop from the left to get rid of the building that is just barely sticking into the frame. What I would really like is more of the building on the left and crop the sky from the right edge of the frame but if this the entire image kill the building.

Here is a cropped version of the same image. Do you mean to crop it this way? I modified the color balance in Photoshop somewhat and warmed up a little. The sign the says "Convention Center" should be green, but the "Call Box" and "Hospital" signs should be blue.

I noticed you also cropped a bit off the top which makes the closer buildings appear taller.

Yes. I find the crop gives it a different feeling to the image. Originally, I wanted to show more of the sky because of the beautiful cloud formations we were having that day. Here in Southern California the only time we see clouds is whenever we have a storm. Otherwise the sky is devoid of clouds.
