For one I don't know what kind of flower this is and two I'm not sure this image "works". This was a total grab shot from this morning. The family and I were taking a walk in the park and came across this. I had the wrong lens on the camera and no tripod but I grabbed a few shots anyway. The out of focus bright areas have huge amounts of what I believe to be Chromatic Aberration. For some reason though I kind of like the effect it gave this image. Ethereal maybe? Anyway, thanks for looking and all C&C are welcome.

Absolutely wonderful shot, the blurry background really makes the flowers stand out. I would not worry about it not being razor sharp; it simply isn't need in this particular shot.

I think this is a nice shot as well. I think the main flowers are a little too centered so I would probably crop a little off the top and the right.

The DOF helps.

Love the light and shadows in the flowers. If you'd had the right lens and tripod and spent a lot of time setting it up you would have lost the light and it probably wouldn't be near as good. Sometimes your instincts are right.

Very nice. It does have an ethereal effect to it. I like the petals in focus standing out strong from the almost vignetted looking blurred bg. The exposure was just right fro the white petals
nice image

Thanks for all the feedback. I was wondering the same thing about the cropping. I think I will crop a little more and try to make a small print and see how it looks.

Take care,
