More shots from the dungeon that I have been calling home here the past couple of weeks, thank god for my new lens, as these pictures are unedited, uncropped, and well still a little dark even with my f/2.8 and ISO shoved to 800. Tell me what you think.

No doubt about it, you're going to have to go to ISO 1600 with the 2.8 in this gym. If the noise bothers you, go with a NR program. I use Noise Ninja Pro but there are many others. This is the main reason I invested in a remote flash setup. The main thing with noise at high ISO is to be sure to get a good exposure. Underexposing and trying to bring it up in PP is the kiss of death.

Yea, I use neat image, really this gym is just dark, and when you walk in all the white looks pee yellow even with my own eyes (thank god for white balance). I'll try your 1600 iso and making my exposures good, thanks for the info.

I'd suggest shooting BB in verticle rather than horizontal, it gives you more room to work with and you can get tighter on the action. The lighting there is a whole nuther story!

Great action.....that part you have down for sure....and I also shoot vertical....but I also have to go to 1600 ISO....but with the 2.8 I also have to do a lot of editing....that is why I have been using the 1.8....even though it limits the DOF....and no zooming....But looks like you do have the dungeon factor going on....bless ya

next time I go there I'll try and get a shot of the floor from up in the bleachers and try and edit it to show what it looks like to me.

What school is this? If it's Franfort I may just have to take a road trip up there and see if I can't help ya out. It's about an hours drive from me.

This school is Lebanon, Frankfort was setup for lighting when they shot the movie blue chips there and they left the lights there, even though I haven't shot there I figure it will be the best place to shoot.

Lebanon is an easy drive, I have a friend there and it takes an hour or so to get to his house just West of town off 65. I'll email you when I know whats up this week and see what we can figure out about me going up there and giving you a hand.
