I'm new to the forums and would appreciate any advice you could offer me.
My last camera was an ultracompact Nikon. It took pretty good sharp shots but didn't do well in low light and tended to create lots of blurry photos. I just went and got the Sony DSC-H3 and I'm very disappointed. The form factor of the camera is excellent, I love the size and its professional look. Unfortunately the pictures tend to produce blurred detail, even on low ISOs. My old Nikon, with all its problems, produced much sharper pictures. Also, a lot of the pictures i've taken with the H3 have come out blurry as well, even with the anti-shake technology.
I am so frustrated! I've played around with the settings but am still getting blurry and not very sharp pictures.
Is it the camera? I' kind of shocked because most of the review i read were very positive
Does anyone have a similar type camera in the $300 price range they could recommend?

Post a couple of sample bad photos. From some of the comments in your post, it appears that both cameras may be suffering from "user error"! The photos will help us determine what is going wrong.

I just got my new Canon PowerShot S5 IS (http://www.**********.com/viewtopic.php?t=31929&ru=290) at a deal price of $322, I think it is a great little convenient camera, it takes unbelievably good pictures and has excellent first shot and shot-to-shot times. It's also a great camera for taking indoor portraits with flash, as well as outdoor photos. the 8 megapixels ensure deeply detailed images -- giving me complete freedom to enlarge an image or any section of an image and crop to exact specifications. I've used the camera for a couple days now and taken about 500 shots with it. I'm very pleased with it.
