Hi Guys

Would you go for a Cannon A460 here
http://www.usa.canon.com/consumer/controller?act=ModelInfoAct&fcategoryid=183&modelid=14825

or a pentax E30 here
http://www.pentax.co.uk/_uk/photo/products/index.php?cameras&gruppe=digital%20compact&produkt=18836&id=uebersicht

Thanks guys

That's a tough one. I just went through the specs and features of both cameras and it's a toss-up. Looks like it comes down to either the lens or resolution. The Pentax is a 7-megapixel camera, as opposed to the Canon's 5-megapixel sensor. But the Canon has a 4x zoom lens and the Pentax has a 3x zoom. Based on my experience with both camera makers - but no experience with either camera - I'd chose the Canon. Canon compact digital cameras have better image quality than Pentax. So I'd rather trade a little resolution for more zoom and better image quality.

I do like the body design of the Pentax better. If you can, try them on for size. How a camera feels in your hands is important. I think the Pentax looks like it would be easier to hold steady. I have a hard time when cameras get too skinny. But it's hard to tell size from photos. That's why I encourage you to go to a camera store and try taking a few pictures with each camera.

Hope that helps. Let us know if you have more questions :)
