Just a gray day here so decided to try to find something to shoot. Liked this farm house with the new snow on mountains in back. Did some adjusting to mountains in pse5 and definitly need to get a nd filter.
What do you think? I tried it out as wallpaper and it definitly looks better big.

i like it in general but the sky seems to be a problem.

looks a bit "pink" to me, perhaps my monitor. with all the different ones around i am not sure whether we REALLY get to see shots the way they look to others.

it could explain why we get such divergent views. (i.e. too dark, can't see the foreground ~! opposed to foreground looks great but soft).

went from a high of 59 this week to almost 80 today. (needless to say i now can't stop sneezing and my nose is stuffed up ~ a definite cold beginning !!) that's more than likely the closest i'll get to seeing snow this year ~ in somebody else's shots.

Frog you were luckily as all morning it was snowing but not sticking and turned to rain in the afternoon south of you. Not fit for man or beast out side. And as I did not bring a camera I missed a morning shot of snow, mist and trees.

Hey, freygr, it was snowing north of us too and within an hour of this picture it was snowing and raining and snowing and raining. Slush stuff and not pretty.
Anyway I worked on this one some more but maybe that sky looks too phony. Just don't know what else to do with it. Suggestions appreciated.

I'm not a pro when it comes to color management, but you should probably convert the profile of the picture to sRGB before posting, or remove any profiles at all.

I see three areas that contrast, the pink sky would be more dramatic white. I really like the shot for those three areas. I have been through a color thing, it could be your computer and your color space.

Somehow I like the second one better. Not sure why but may be better the first one is more dominated by one color. But then, a pinkish/purplish sky? :-)

Damn, that second image rocks!

I like the composition a lot. The placement of the buildings on the left with the peaks going off to the right is really well done. I agreed with everyone about the color issues in your first image but you did way more than correct them in the second-you brought the thing to life.

the second one has a threatening sky loaded with who knows what..

i really like it..

Thankyou all. That pink in the second shot is much less dramatic in a large image.

I like the edit's colors much better. But compositionally, I have a problem with so much empty space in the foreground screaming for a foreground subject. Where are those deer?! :)

The second one is very nice. The colors are nicer, but the sky is much nicer and really gives the shot some texture. Very nice indeed.

i like the second one that u hv modified. the color much more contrast.

I like the composition and colors of the second one. I think you should remove the powerlines and poles. Nice shot Frog.
