But here are a few bird shots I took on the 3rd. The family went to Shackleford Banks, and I took the Coolpix 5700 with me. I was planning on taking my N80 as well, but the Suzuki was FULL of children, coolers, towels, etc. No room for the camera bag, and I wasn't just carrying it. The Coolpix went into a fanny pack for potection.

While walking down the beach, I saw some shore birds eating on a marsh flat. So I took the 5700 and went stalking. Got scratched on briars, and poked by marsh grass, but I came back with 23 bird pics.

Here are a few of them. All have been cropped.

And I was really wishing I had my N80. No shutter lag, and another 20mm of focal length. Then again, if I got a D70, my 70-300mm would be a 105-450mm. Hmmmm.

I'm not ready to start crawling through the mud - yet. But it has crossed my mind! I saw some egrets in a marsh today, and thought about crawling up to the marsh line to get some shots. What is happening to me? I must be sick! :-P
