I have noticed lately my flash on the XT doesnt want to come up and I have to turn off the unit and turn it back on mulitple times for the flash to open. Is this the beginning of other problems?

It's probably not the start of other problems. Are you using it in auto modes where the flash automatically opens when it's needed? Or are you saying you can't gte it to pop open manually, too?

I'm sorry. I should have asked this before. What happens if you push the manual button to the side of the flash? Nothing? So you just plain can't get it to open? Or does it just not pop up on its own?

When I do it on the side I get the same error as in auto ...error 5 but after turning it off and turning it back a few times it finally pops open.
