anyway, heres a pic i took of a koala. wish that other guy wasn't there but i still like this one

saw him striking this pose and whipped out my camera and took a shot

i was at 200mm, and couldn't get any closer, would have been better though. actually i did well not to have any camera shake

what do you reckon?

Nice image. As for advice, I would say that the koala isn't imparting much energy into the shot. I know they're not known for being overly active, but a reach, a yawn, a bite, that sort of action, would give it a lot of lift.

Make sure that you watch the foregrounds. Having branches and the like crossing the subject can be deadly. And having obstructions across the eyes are the biggest killers. Instead, quickly find another shooting angle. Sometimes it only takes a little lean, squat, or tiptoe to deal with a pesky intruder.

Hope I didn't sound too harsh. But around here, if people ask, I speak :p

never would have though of cropping it, i kinda like the way the branches are everywehre becaues it makes it seem like i sorta took it in the wild (which i didn't) the feeling that i spoted him form a distance just peeking through the trees

i didn't have much time, its hard to tell but the guy was vigouraoulsy grabbing leaves and shoving them in his mouth, i wanted a front on face and body shot like the one i got

i had to take like 12 pictures becuase he was moving so much

in hindsight, i should have moved a bit more to the right, might have gotten the other guy out of the shot and that branch out of his eye

i've read that you should always be moving in differnt positions when taking pictures, i was jsut pre-occupied. definately will remember that next time

I personally liked the way the branches were crossing in the front of the picture. It gives off a feeling of looking at him thru a window to me. Thats just my opinion though.
